Today the staff of Wicomico County Public Schools is dressing casual to support the fund-raising of these four adventurers. The money raised by Over the Edge for ALICE, through the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, goes to help families in our community who are ALICE: Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed. Many ALICE families include children in our classroom, and Wicomico Schools is stepping up (and going Over the Edge) to support them. Ours is the first school system in the area to take on this challenge.
Staff members can join this ALICE effort with their casual day donation today and in other ways that we will share soon. And anyone can make a donation to be divided among the four Ross descenders: https://givebutter.com/OTE2026/wicomico-county-public-schools.
(Individual donation links will be shared in the near future. Anyone donating $25 or more to one of our team members through the donation site will have their name added to the adventure suit so they can be part of the descent on May 8th!)

Due to inclement weather conditions, Wicomico County Public Schools will have a 90-minute delay on Monday, March 9th. Breakfast will not be served. Schools share additional details about the day's schedule if needed. Please be safe.

This is a school status announcement for Wednesday, February 25th: Wicomico County Public Schools will have a 90-minute delay on Wednesday. Breakfast will not be served. Schools may provide specific information about the day’s schedule.
Note: A chart with 90-minute delay times can be found on the School Hours page of our website:

Please note that this will use the final make-up day built into the approved school calendar. After this closure, Wicomico Schools will be ready to transition to a virtual instruction day the next time conditions necessitate the closure of school buildings.
Meeting date change: The Wicomico County Board of Education special meeting and work session has been moved from Tuesday morning to Thursday, Feb. 26 at 8:30 a.m.

During the Board of Education meeting on Feb. 10, the school system announced a revision to the approved calendar to use one of the designated make-up days. Students of Wicomico County Public Schools will now have school on Monday, March 16th, with 3-hour early dismissal. March 16th is no longer a staff professional day.
The revised calendar is posted in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole on the Calendar page of the school system’s website. Please make sure to use this updated calendar -- with a date of Feb, 10, 2026 in the bottom right corner and March 16th shown as a school day with early dismissal -- as the school year continues.
